Calterm Multimeters & Analyzers Editorial Review
The Calterm 66420 Electrical Analog Multimeter has received mixed reviews from customers, highlighting both its useful features and some critical safety concerns. Many users appreciate the meter for its affordable price and sufficient functionality for low-voltage readings, making it a practical choice for quick checks. Its compact and durable design is praised, and it serves well for those who need a simple tool without the complexity of a digital multimeter. However, there are significant criticisms regarding its voltage handling capabilities. A notable user's experience raised alarms about the product's safety, indicating that the meter failed dangerously when used with 480 volts AC, resulting in a disruptive incident in a critical environment. This raises concerns over the reliability of the unit at higher voltage levels and suggests potential risks for professional use. Overall, while the Calterm 66420 is regarded as a cost-effective solution for basic electrical testing, its limitations in handling higher voltages warrant caution, particularly in professional settings. **
