Comedy Editorial Review
The Cheap Detective is a spoof film that takes aim at classic films such as The Maltese Falcon and Casablanca. The one-liners are classic and come at a fast pace. The gags are enjoyable to watch, with a huge all-star cast that includes Hollywood favorites like Peter Falk. The pace and set are good, making for complex but clever dialogue that is fun and enjoyable to watch. While not quite as good as Murder by Death, this movie is still very funny and excellent for movie buffs who enjoy recognizing all the swipes.
