The Great Wall is a family movie with a straightforward plot that promotes general moral themes. The presence of strong male and female characters makes it appealing to both sons and daughters. It has fantasy violence against monsters that may not be suitable for toddlers and little children but is acceptable for older children. The movie is beautifully shot and filmed in China with hundreds of extras, all with wonderful costumes. The story is incredibly fantastic and merges with a unique storyline based on Chinese mythology. The detailed sets and costumes make the creatures and stunts of the movie come alive.
