Microsoft Games E06-00001 Editorial Review

The Microsoft Sidewinder Strategic Commander is an old piece of gaming hardware that is still functional and useful for non-FPS games. It has six buttons that light up and are programmable, dead zones, mode functions, and three shift buttons, three mode buttons, and six regular buttons. It also has zoom in/out buttons, and could be used for image apps like Photoshop. It's excellent for games that employ rotational maps like C&C Generals. The Strategic Command mapping software is found online and is free, and it comes with profiles for about 30 other games. The keys are programmable, and it can handle up to 72 keyboard commands. It costs around $60, but it is challenging to find in local stores, and it's essential to ensure that 3rd party drivers are available before purchasing, as Microsoft no longer supports it.
